Titan Invest Review

Are you looking for a turn key investment solution? Do you struggle with investments? Are you having trouble keeping up with the market? Well today we look at a company called Titan , also known as Titan Invest.

Titan is a consumer-friendly hedge fund. They take the stress out of investment strategies. They also offer an opportunity to invest in some of the most desired stocks today. Those stocks are the FANG (Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google) stocks. These stocks are trading at a very high price and many investors can’t afford the current price. Titan offers its clients a piece of the pie in forms of pieces of the stock.  Titan requires you to deposit a starting balance of $1000 to open an account. They advertise an aggressive strategy and encourage their clients to focus on a long-term goal.  According to Titan they have outperformed the S&P 500 by 7% for 2018. These numbers attracted me and are what led me to looking into their offerings. Another key factor that caught my eye were their low fees. Titan has a flat rate of 1% for their take on fees. They are really trying to compete with the large hedge funds and brokers.

2018 year-to-date, Titan is +10%, net of fees, vs. the S&P 500 up 3%. During 2017, Titan was up 33% net, vs. the S&P up 22%. Since 2004, our returns would have been +14% vs. the market +9%

In September 2018 I started an account with $1000. After about a week my performance was okay. Currently I’m seeing little profit, but a real review on the performance will take a few months at least. So I plan to update this blog based on the performance over six months. Keep in mind we are at an all-time high bull run, so let’s see what happens in the next few months.

Let’s talk about the app. Their app is easy to use and very simplified. They provide you a snapshot of your portfolio and the ability to see documentation on all the stocks you own. Another nice touch they add is the ability to view what stocks you own in your hedge. It shows the percentages of each stock, so you can see how it’s performing in each sector. They also offer a web portal but it’s currently limited. I would like to see more features on the web app.

Another thing I noticed about Titan, they are good at reminding you how to add funds to your account. I am sure this is a mechanism to get you to put more money in, which is OK with me. They offer multiple options to fund your account and even give you the ability to automate your deposits monthly. I haven’t signed up for this yet, but maybe when the market is stable. Overall, I like the Titan platform. I will be updating this review as i dive deeper into the platform.
